Christopher M. Bacon (B.A., UC Santa Barbara; Ph.D, UCSC; Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellow, UC Berkeley) is a professor of environmental social science and chair of the Environmental Studies and Sciences Department. He leads a long-term community-based participatory action research agenda with local and international partners focused on agroecology, food security/sovereignty, and the political economy of systems change.  He has authored articles defining and establishing a research agenda, and published how smallholder farmers and cooperatives navigate seasonal hunger and water insecurity in the context of climate change and other hazards. Additionally, he has conducted research addressing.  He serves on the editorial board for the Journal of and co-founded the. Chris Co-Chairs the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities’ and contributes to strategic planning as a member of 糖心破解版’s Mission and Identity and Global Reach Committees.  He is an active member of several professional networks, including AESS, INFAS, and the AAG.
