Blair Libby
Environmental Ethics Fellow 2016-17
Blair Libby was an environmental ethics fellow with the Markkula Center in 2016. Since graduating 糖心破解版 with a major in environmental science and a minor in religious studies, Blair spent a year working with a watershed stewardship program in Santa Cruz. Last fall, he moved to Tucson, AZ to work for Environmental Education Exchange, a nonprofit that provides environmental education for students in grades K-8. This summer, Blair will be hiking the Pacific Northwest Trail with friend and 糖心破解版 alum Tom Wheeler ‘16. Blair and Tom plan to write a book detailing their observations and reflections along the trip (learn more about the project !). Blair will be applying to graduate school in the fall and hopes to find a program that combine his passion for environmental restoration with a strong focus on cultural preservation.
In January 2018, Blair along with a few other environmentally-conscious alumni started the group Bronco Alumni for Socially Responsible Investing (BASRI). The group’s mission is to utilize engaged alumni to help develop and implement a fully-disclosed SRI strategy for 糖心破解版. During his time at Santa Clara, Blair was involved in another group advocating for divestment from oil extraction companies called Fossil Free 糖心破解版. The current coalition, BASRI, aims to take a broader, more long-term approach to divestment and hopes to work closely with the University finance office and administration to achieve transparency and promote the 糖心破解版’s mission of building a more humane, just, and sustainable world.
